Each category on LocalView (e.g., Automotive, News, Marketplace) collects data relevant to its content to enhance user experience.

  • Users can modify or delete favorite tags in their admin panel.
  • Additional background tags and behavioral data are collected but are not visible to users.

2.3. Public vs. Account-Based Access

  • All categories are publicly accessible without an account.
  • Only registered users can personalize their experience by selecting tags and bookmarks.
  • By creating an account, users agree to the collection of preferences and personal information necessary for transacting on the site.

3. User Consent & Rights

3.1. How We Obtain Consent

  • Users must affirmatively consent to data collection during account registration by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.
  • We use cookie banners and privacy notices to inform users of tracking technologies, in compliance with UK GDPR and PECR.

  •  Category Admins: Only see aggregated data and anonymized trends. They cannot access individual user preferences.
  • Backend Developers: Have technical access to stored user preferences to maintain system functionality.

4.2. What Users Control

  • Users can modify or delete their favorite tags in their Admin Panel.
  • Users cannot opt out of personalization but can stop using the platform if they disagree with data collection practices.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

5.1. How Long We Store Data

  • User data is retained indefinitely unless the user submits a written request for deletion.
  • No automated data expiration policies exist at this time.

5.2. How Users Can Delete Their Data

  • Users can request account deletion and full data removal by contacting privacyrequests@localview.ai.
  • All or nothing policy: Users cannot delete specific data while keeping their account active.
  • Once a formal deletion request is received, LocalView will process it and confirm via email.

6. Third-Party Data Sharing

  • LocalView does not share user data with third parties, including advertisers or external businesses.
  • No third-party cookies are allowed on the platform.

  • LocalView uses tracking technologies for site functionality and user experience enhancement.

  • LocalView will implement Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as required by UK GDPR to ensure secure international transfers.

  • If required by law, LocalView will inform users of international data transfers.
  • Currently, the platform operates in the United States and the UK.
